FADED YOUTH

Bits of my youth,
gone in the mist of a new day.
Snapshots in time faded and tarnished;
the corners torn and tattered,
crackled with age.
Leaving nothing more than memories, buried in the recesses of my mind.

Slipping away are the Idols of my childhood.
Taking with them my lost innocence.
Stealing the fantasy land I was once lost to.

The landscape of my world has changed.
Nothing is familiar.
I’m a lost traveller,
Looking for a past I’ll never find.
Searching for places now only real in my
Faded Youth.
